The collection contains sixteen illustrated and printed advertising brochures, most with recipes, for such products as Jell-O (5 recipe booklets from Genesee Pure Food Co., 1920-1922), American Crystallized Gelatine (one 4-page recipe brochure from E.E. McLeish & Co.), Wheatena (muffins recipe card from Wheatena Company), Plymouth Rock Gelatine Dainties (recipe booklet from Plymouth Rock Gelatine Co.), Arm & Hammer Washing Soda (two brochures: Helpful Hints to Motorists, and Cleansing Helps for the Housewife, from Church & Dwight, 1922), Remington typewriter (one ad card, "Every student needs one Remington portable, keyboard just like the big machine;" stamped on verso: For sale by Wardworth's Book Store, 1311 East 57th Street, Chicago, Ill. [circa 1923]). Also, a small paper bag advertising U.H. Eisenhauer's celebrated peanuts five cents a quart, Kelly X Roads, Union County, Pa.; a booklet of Aunt Matilda's selected receipts and useful information (Philadelphia: I.L. Cragin & Co., 1879); one card "Care of 'Wear-Ever' Aluminum Utensils" (Aluminum Cooking Utensil Co., New Kensington, Pa.); and two damaged booklets, one with recipes for candies and the other for sandwiches, both with ads for Lydia Pinkham's Vegetable Compound (Lydia E. Pinkham Medicine Co.).
